SME funding provider Asset Advantage has recorded a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 38 among its commercial broker partners, a score that is considered strong in the asset finance sector and more than double its score from the previous year.
The latest results also show a significant increase in broker advocacy, with more half of broker respondents (58%) now classed as ‘promoters’ – those most likely to recommend Asset Advantage to others. This has risen from just over a third (35%) in 2025.
NPS is a well-established metric used by firms to measure how likely customers are to recommend a company or service, with respondents scoring their experience from 0 to 10. To be classed as a ‘promoter’, respondents must score either a 9 or 10, while those scoring between 0 and 6 are considered ‘detractors’. Scores of 7 or 8 are considered ‘passives’, where they may be satisfied with a company and its service, but could easily be swayed by a competitor.
The sharp rise in broker advocacy follows an extensive period of investment by Asset Advantage to improve its proposition and the service it offers to brokers. Alongside the launch of new products, Asset Advantage has expanded both its broker-facing and internal teams, invested in new technology and front and mid-office systems and strengthened its processes to drive efficiencies.
Asset Advantage has also established robust internal procedures to monitor broker satisfaction, in line with further development of its proposition and processes.
The results come as commercial brokers continue to play an important role in helping SMEs navigate a broad range of funding requirements, from investing in equipment, machinery and technology through asset finance, or business expansion and acquisition with business loans. Asset Advantage has been providing business finance for 20 years, supporting commercial brokers with its flexible approach and people-driven decision making.
Gary Thompson, sales director at Asset Advantage, said: “Our primary focus this year has been investing in growth, making sure our products and service truly meet the needs of the market. The increase in our NPS and a sharp rise in the number of brokers recommending us is a strong reflection of the team’s hard work and the company’s investment. I’m really proud of what the entire Asset Advantage team has achieved so far and to see that recognised by our intermediary partners.
“Brokers need funding partners that are flexible, pragmatic and commercially-minded, while also being responsive and easy to work with. It feels like we are striking that balance, but we don’t want to rest on our laurels. We’ll continue to listen to feedback and keep pushing forward across our proposition and processes to ensure we are delivering exactly what our broker partners need to best support their SME clients.”
Asset Advantage provides funding starting at £75,000, up to £500,000. As part of its flexible approach to funding, Asset Advantage does not have sector or asset restrictions, providing that businesses can demonstrate strong debt serviceability and an acceptable risk profile.
